So, I totally bit the bate and tried out the new Rad Lab. Can I just say- L O V E! Honestly. This is probably one of THE best photo editing tools since I first discovered Photoshop Raw Editor! There are several reasons for me (and you) to love Rad Lab. Even if you’ve never edited a photo in your life, I can make you LOVE this product by the end of this blog post! Clients and Photographers alike will love The Rad Lab!
In this review, I’ve made a list of things I love about Rad Lab. Essentially, it’s an overall review
. Here’s my list of loves!
1) It’s so user friendly! After you’ve installed Rad Lab, simply open Photoshop and- voila! Lab it up my friend!
2) It’s super quick to edit photos now! I use some actions in my photos (by some, I mean I use the same 3 if I’m feeling lazy. Most of my photos are hand edited). Manually editing photos can take forever! And, I’m going to be honest- I’m not a huge fan of Lightroom. I know I know…but I just don’t like it. I’m a Photoshop addict! I design in there, I edit photos in there, I basically live in Photoshop. But I digress. Rad Lab is like my new 3rd arm. Here are some examples of my manual editing (on the left) and my Rad Lab edit (on the right!). I can already see a HUGE difference in EVERYTHING! I love it!

Yup, the one below is us. We’re cute
3) It gives me the option of seeing HOW my image will look before I edit it. This is a HUGE deal for me. There are times when I think “Ok this is obviously a black and white image” and you just know. But, there are other times when you see an image and you think “is this black and white or color?” and then you just have no idea. Well, with Rad Lab- the guessing game is over! I know exactly which is best before I even edit the image!
4) It’s helping me see my images in a new way. When I used to edit my images it was standard- color, or black and white. Rad Lab is opening my eyes to vintage and sepia. I’ve always been a fan of vintage and when I see vintage coloring in a photo, I love it. But when I look at my photos, it’s rare that I see “vintage” as my style. I’ve always been hesitant of the world of “sepia” colored photos. But Rad Lab has helped me realize that Sepia CAN be okay.

Well, I decided to open a new Etsy store! There are very few products available right now but more will be added in days, weeks and hopefully- months to come! Are you a “pinterester?” well- I’m going to start “Pinning” my work and I’ll share with you all my gallery in the coming days as well
.
You may be wondering how things are going on the photography front for me. The short answer is- not well. My camera broke a few weeks ago when we were in Belfast
. Some good news though is that it’s at the Canon factory NOW getting work done and I’m so excited for it’s return back home! I miss it!
Well anyways, the link to my shop is HERE so feel free to click away!!!
Here’s a sneaky peak of what it looks like

Hey all! have you forgotten about me? Been wondering where I am? Well- the truth is, I’m right here
.
I sort of took an unplanned summer off and really – REALLY – enjoyed myself. Summer is coming to a close now but we’re still busy every single weekend until Mid September. I just wanted to let everyone know that I’m still alive and that on October 1st, I’ll be closing my doors…but just until January 1st
. I need some time to gather myself and start over- if you will- with my business and with myself…and with my family. A lot has been going on in the world of my husband and I and, while I don’t like to get too personal on the blog- it’s all good stuff. Not EXACTLY what we hoped for, but better than nothing which is always great
.
So anyways, over the course of the next few months, my business is getting an overhaul. EVERYTHING will be under construction during that time. If you want to email me- feel free! It may take me more than 1 or 2 days to get back to you but, I will become available for shoots after January 1. I’m going to increase the number of weddings I accept and REALLY increase the number of photoshoots I accept! So be on the look out for major changes!
Now, you all know me- I can’t blog without a photograph can I? Well, I thought you’d all like to see just WHAT I’ve been doing this summer!
As you can see- we celebrated my grandmothers birthday in fine style
Went to 2 baseball games this year and am headed to Fenway in 6 days! (yeah only 6!!!)
mmmmmmmmmmm Seadog biscuit! Totally worth the $3!
Drove up to the top of Mt. Battie for a picnic. Right around the time of dandelion season
My oldest friend had her baby this winter and she spent over a week in the NICU. The first time I met her was at the beginning of the summer and oohhhhhhhhh myyyyyy cuteness! LOOK at that little face! I got to rock her to sleep
. Adorableness!
Panorama of Camden Maine. One of my most favorite places on earth.
And then, in mid July, we just up and left Maine for a week and headed to the Berkshires. You can see here, I’m totally enjoying the indoor outdoor pool with a beautiful view of the mountain
We did a little cave exploring while on vacation
. This place reminds me of the hotel from The Shining! RIGHT! Sooo creepy. The caves were pretty cool though
.
And then…we went to Foxwoods and had a truly horrible time. The best part of the day was seeing a show of impersonators (which was honestly the funniest thing I’ve ever seen!) and the ride home when we saw this
. A BEAUTIFUL rainbow across the whole sky. Amazing! I felt like the double rainbow guy a little bit but really- soooo pretty
. Ok. You caught me. I’m sobbing just looking at it
My husband requested I take a picture of this. Can you tell me what it is?
Enjoying the sauna at the hotel. It made me more lethargic than I’ve ever been in my life. My max time in the sauna: 3 whopping minutes of sweating, trying to catch my breath and then rushing inside to get a huge drink of water. AWESOME. You’ll see here my mom and my step dad Ken enjoying the sauna to it’s fullest while I sat on the side lines taking everyone’s pictures.
Yup, the only part of me that could stand the hot tub for more than 3 minutes
I asked Ken to take some photos of us and he did this is my favorite one that came out. I so want this printed
I made it so there was no other choice left- we WERE eating breakfast here before we left. And we did. And it was delicious. And no, I couldn’t eat it all but I gave it a hell of a try
.
Those of you who know me know that I do NOT tan. I burn. The closest thing I get to a tan? My freckles
. I absolutely adore my freckles. I can honestly say that I believe all women have insecurities about themselves. Things that they have to work hard to love about themselves. Mine have always been my eyes, my nose and my freckles. While I’m still working on really loving my schnoz, I absolutely LOVE my eye color. Totally unique. Green with golden specs. Can’t find that hardly anywhere! And my freckles. You know what made me love them? This quote: “a face without freckles is like a sky without stars”. So true
.
Old Orchard Beach. One of the very few places in Maine that I can honestly say I would never EVER live.
Yeah. We wish we had played this one. Really? That is freakin’ awesome!
And here’s WHY I wouldn’t want to live in OOB. This was on one side of the pier- there were this many people if not more, on the other side. Not even an enjoyable beach day.
And then we saw this guy just strolling around OOB! I wish I had been brave enough to get my picture taken with him!
A few nights ago I was able to convince my husband that no, we don’t have enough photos of ourselves
Well guys and gals, that’s pretty much been my summer in a nutshell! Still much more to come and I’m so excited! I’ve had a great summer off but I’ve missed my clients
. I can’t wait to get back into it in 2012
Be on the look out!
